Can using the Divi builder for blog posts impede upon your SEO efforts?

It’s a question that many have asked, however, there really haven’t been any clear cut answers in regards to this.

There is one thing you should consider, however, if you are already using the AMP plugin on your site.

AMP by design will remove any shortcodes, inline images, and even videos to ensure that your readers are only receiving the contextual content that you are writing about.

Do I need to tell you the frustration that can envelope to those who are using the Divi builder for blog posts?

Fortunately, there is an answer to this dilema…

Tim Stiffler actually addressed this somewhat on one of the podcast from my favorite gang over at Divi Chat.

Being perfectly honest and transparent, it is a question that I have had not only in regards to Divi but any pagebuilder in general.

Based on the information that Tim brought forth, the crawlers actually look around the shortcodes that are utilized by many of the pagebuilders on the market.

However, what wasn’t address is how they respond to a post when someone may be utilizing the AMP plugin.

For those who may not be keeping up with the latest preferred practices set forth by both Google and WordPress, AMP is Accelerate Mobile Pages.

This is the technology that ensures that all content that is delivered has been optimized to deliver both efficiently and quickly to mobile viewers of content.

Getting Around AMP Requirement using the Divi Builder for blog posts

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text text_font_size=”16px” text_font_size_last_edited=”on|phone” text_font_size_phone=”15px”]

Since I am focusing on using the Divi builder for blog posts, I would be remiss in not doing my job in providing you the link to a valuable plugin.

AMP Supremacy allows you to choose from several options, which are located on the right side of your posts section.

You can choose to overwrite the global settings. As you can see in my illustration here, I have chosen to disable AMP for this particular post.

This ensures that my content is not stripped of the content that I am providing to you by using the Divi Builder for the particular post.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text][/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ parallax=”off” parallax_method=”on”][et_pb_image src=”http://creativewebsitedesign.us/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/AMP-Wordkaround.png” alt=”AMP Workaround”][/et_pb_image][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row use_custom_width=”on” custom_width_px=”1265px”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ parallax=”off” parallax_method=”on”][et_pb_text text_font_size=”16px” text_font_size_last_edited=”on|phone” text_font_size_phone=”15px”]

In short, the decision as to whether or not you will be using the Divi builder for blog posts comes down to a matter of personal preferences.

However, there are some things to keep in mind when doing so.

Hopefully, I have been able to deliver a bit of insight as to a few things to consider when making this decision.

For those of us who utilize Divi on a regular basis either for personal use or client sites, this may not be such a big issue.

But from the looking point of someone who may just need to add basic content, I would stick to using the standard editor as provide in WordPress.
